Caribbean MOU on PSC CIC on Fire Safety Systems - Preliminary Results
2015-03-11From September 1, 2014 to November 30, 2014, the Caribbean MOU carried out a Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Fire Safety System (FSS) throughout the region. This campaign involved nine (9) Member States and one (1) Associate Member State of the Caribbean MOU. The CIC was designed to ensure that there is compliance with the requirements of the SOLAS Convention Chapter II-2 and the International Code for Fire Safety Systems as applicable; that the firefighting equipment is readily available and maintained at all times; that the master, officers and crew are familiar with the equipment and have received training in carrying out their duties and to raise awareness of fire safety related issues.
